Zaragoza and Barcelona

Today was largely a travel day, as we went from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, but there was plenty of fun to be had.

We hit the road first thing in the morning toward Barcelona. We stopped for a rest break and snacks after about an hour and a half, then headed on to our lunch stop in Zaragoza.

In Zaragosa, we toured the cathedral and had lunch. We were lucky enough to time our mid-day break with a Holy Friday procession! We had been hoping to see one all week and things worked out perfectly today. From there, we headed on to Barcelona with another pitstop along the way.

Our tour manager, Julia, is from Barcelona, so we planned to arrive early. We dropped our bags in the hotel and immediately headed downtown to get a feel of Barcelona. Julia taught the kids so much about her city, including how to make castelles, human towers, which Catalans are famous for making. We toured the old Gothic section of town and then headed for dinner and bed. We are so lucky to end our trip in Barcelona with a tour manager from Barcelona. Tomorrow is going to be good!!
